This means OpenAI will see higher engagement on their platform, as users will stay within ChatGPT for both AI answers and direct information.</p><p>This shift could also have a significant impact on SEO. Until now, SEO strategies have focused almost exclusively on Google, but now, marketers, content creators, and businesses will need to consider optimizing for OpenAI&#8217;s search as well. This dual focus may require new strategies to ensure visibility on both platforms, impacting everyone from SEO specialists and digital marketers to content creators who rely heavily on search traffic.</p><p>Currently, Google processes over <strong>8.5 billion searches daily</strong>, maintaining a global market share of more than 92%. On the other hand, ChatGPT has surged to over <strong>200 million active users weekly</strong>, indicating strong engagement within the AI platform.</p><p>This shift brings up an intriguing question: With ChatGPT now integrating search, how many users might start moving away from traditional Google searches to using ChatGPT for their primary information needs?</p><h3>Google&#8217;s Gemini has integrated real-time search capabilities, much like ChatGPT&#8217;s recent update.</h3><p>However, Gemini stands out with deeper integration into Google&#8217;s ecosystem, allowing it to pull up-to-date information directly from Google Search and access other Google services. This makes it highly competitive for search and research tasks.</p><p>Gemini also has unique features like visual integration, enabling it to display images directly within responses, whereas ChatGPT only provides links to images for free users. Additionally, Gemini integrates with Google Workspace, making it easy for users to export data and collaborate seamlessly within the Google environment.</p><h3>ChatGPT + Bing vs. Gemini + Google</h3><p>ChatGPT&#8217;s new search feature is powered by Bing, thanks to its partnership with Microsoft. This integration allows ChatGPT to pull real-time data from Bing&#8217;s search engine, enhancing its responses with current web information and citations.</p><p>On the other side, Google&#8217;s Gemini is naturally integrated with Google Search, giving it access to Google&#8217;s extensive index and ecosystem. This partnership allows Gemini to deliver highly relevant search results and utilize Google&#8217;s data-rich environment, especially useful for users already familiar with Google&#8217;s platform.</p><h3>Impact of ChatGPT&#8217;s Search Update on Bing vs. Google</h3><p>With ChatGPT now powered by Bing for its search capabilities, Microsoft gains a strategic edge in its ongoing competition with Google. ChatGPT&#8217;s large user base, combined with Bing&#8217;s search engine, could drive more users to Bing, potentially influencing search market shares. For users seeking an integrated AI and search experience, this partnership brings Bing into direct comparison with Google in ways we haven&#8217;t seen before.</p><p>The question is whether this shift will encourage users, especially those loyal to Google, to start using ChatGPT with Bing more frequently, gradually eroding Google&#8217;s dominance. It was just something I installed because it seemed like the right thing to do. Fast forward to 2011, when I landed my first job as a web engineer in Dubai, I made sure to include Google Analytics on the sites I developed. But it wasn&#8217;t until I was tasked with SEO that I truly realized its power. Google Analytics became my single source of truth, revealing the impact of my SEO strategies and opening a new world of digital marketing for me.</p><p>This newfound fascination with tracking and understanding marketing metrics led me to my next role, managing all marketing channels for an education consultancy. SEO, Google Ads, Instagram Ads&#8212;you name it, I tracked it. Here, I transformed basic Google Analytics setups into advanced e-commerce tracking systems. The data was fascinating&#8212;I could see exactly how much revenue an e-commerce business was generating through analytics. It became my go-to tool, something I opened daily, spending hours analyzing data, understanding KPIs, and fine-tuning strategies.</p><p>For my employer, I expanded analytics implementations across 22 websites and 4 apps, transitioning from the free version to GA 360, the premium tier. Google Analytics had become an integral part of my career, and today, it&#8217;s a cornerstone of my own business. We ensure every client harnesses its power.</p><p>Bidding farewell to GA 360 isn&#8217;t easy. As July 1st marks its end, I&#8217;ve already embraced GA4.
